Economic Recovery Team Leader

About the role

The Economic Recovery Team Leader will oversee the Danish Refugee Council’s Economic Recovery portfolio on the West Coast, managing KFW‑funded women’s economic empowerment, climate‑smart agriculture, vocational training, cash‑plus and MPCA programmes. The role ensures high‑quality, accountable delivery through team supervision, partner coordination and close collaboration with protection, CCCM and WASH sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Economic Recovery field team, including work‑plan development, staff planning, coaching, performance monitoring and capacity building.
• Oversee implementation of KFW‑funded and other economic recovery activities, ensuring targets, budgets, procurement and reporting deadlines are met.
• Track implementation risks, delays and quality issues, and propose corrective actions to the Economic Recovery Manager.
• Coordinate with implementing partners and service providers, supporting their work‑plans, field supervision, documentation and capacity building.
• Lead beneficiary identification, verification, registration and prioritisation for livelihoods, cash‑plus and MPCA activities in line with SOPs and protection standards.
• Supervise gender‑sensitive market assessments, community consultations, business and vocational skills training, climate‑smart agriculture, post‑harvest handling and market linkage activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, reconciliation, complaints handling and compliance with cash‑and‑voucher assistance procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑sector humanitarian programmes, especially economic recovery, livelihoods and cash‑based assistance.
• Strong ability to integrate protection, CCCM and WASH considerations into economic interventions.
• Demonstrated competence in gender mainstreaming, safeguarding, AAP and conflict‑sensitive implementation.
• Excellent leadership, team‑management and stakeholder‑coordination skills.

Required skills
