Agricultural Field Officer (Agricultural Engineer)

About the role

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the Agricultural Field Officer will plan, coordinate and supervise agricultural extension and livestock livelihood activities across Lahj and the West Coast of Yemen. The role supports productive households, promotes climate‑smart practices and links producer groups to local markets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update agricultural extension plans and climate‑smart training materials for target groups.
• Supervise field training sessions delivered by extension facilitators and oversee livestock vocational training groups.
• Conduct regular field visits, assess performance, collect and analyse extension data, and recommend improvements.
• Plan and supervise market assessments, link producer groups to local markets and document implementation challenges.
• Review, archive and submit periodic reports to the Project Officer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or Agriculture.
• Minimum three years of experience in agricultural extension and field implementation.
• Experience in extension planning, field training supervision, market assessment and reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with mobile data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK.
