Climate‑Smart Agriculture Assessment & Capacity Building Consultant

About the role

Solidarités International is seeking a consultant to lead an integrated assessment of climate‑smart agriculture, agroecology and natural resources in the Taiz Governorate of Yemen. The assignment, funded by the European Union (DG MENA) under the WASL Project, will support the organisation’s efforts to strengthen resilience and sustainable livelihoods through evidence‑based analysis and capacity‑building activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of climate‑smart agriculture practices, agroecology approaches and natural resource management across the districts of Al‑Ma'fer, Jabal Habashy and Al‑Misrakh.
• Analyse value chains to identify bottlenecks and barriers that limit the adoption of sustainable agricultural techniques.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building workshops and training materials for local partners, authorities and community groups.
• Produce detailed reports and recommendations that inform SI’s programme design and EU‑funded interventions.

Required profile

• Academic background in climate change, agriculture, natural resources, environmental science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in conducting assessments, value‑chain analysis or barrier analysis in humanitarian or development settings.
• Familiarity with the socio‑economic context of Yemen and ability to work with local stakeholders.
