Program Coordinator – Yemen

About the role

The Program Coordinator will support the Head of Mission in overseeing humanitarian programmes in Yemen. Reporting directly to the Head of Mission, the role combines strategic planning, project design, implementation monitoring and partnership management in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the mission’s operational strategy through context analysis, needs assessments, budgeting and HR planning.
• Design and plan projects, including baseline surveys and action proposals.
• Oversee project implementation, activity planning, monitoring and verification of results.
• Manage partnerships, define modalities, supervise capacity‑building plans and ensure partner oversight.
• Prepare and submit reports for the Head of Mission, donors and ad‑hoc requests.
• Monitor programme budgets, validate expenditures and ensure alignment with forecasts.
• Address project delays, conflicts or issues and propose improvements to reporting formats.

Required profile

• Relevant Master’s level qualification in International Relations, Political Sciences, Project Management or a similar field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian work, including strategic thinking and problem solving.
• Experience in project planning, budgeting, proposal and report writing.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); French and/or Arabic are desirable.
• Leadership experience managing national and expatriate staff in insecure environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Logical Framework analysis.
• Project cycle management.
• Budget management and financial monitoring.
