METAL Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a METAL Coordinator to provide national leadership for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (METAL) across its Yemen country program. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Programs, the Coordinator will ensure that data and learning drive continuous program improvement and evidence‑based design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the METAL department, overseeing Monitoring & Evaluation and Client Responsiveness & Accountability teams.
• Develop, implement, and maintain monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and data management systems from data collection to visualization.
• Integrate METAL principles into every phase of the project cycle and ensure alignment with country strategic objectives.
• Produce data visualization products and ensure they are used by project teams and senior management.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to staff and partners on METAL processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, or data management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Commitment to IRC’s mission and to upholding METAL standards.

Required skills

• Experience designing and managing M&E systems.
• Ability to develop data visualizations for program decision‑making.
• Knowledge of METAL principles and their application in humanitarian programs.
