MEAL Intern – Monitoring & Evaluation Support

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a motivated MEAL Intern to support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) activities for mixed migration interventions in Lahj (Kharaz), Yemen. Working under the guidance of the MEAL Team Leader, you will contribute to field data collection, beneficiary feedback handling, and quality assurance of meal provision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person data collection using paper questionnaires or KoBo Collect during programme patrols to assess beneficiary satisfaction.
• Accompany the programme team on regular field visits, deliver awareness sessions for newly arrived migrants, and promptly share observations with the MEAL Team Leader.
• Enter and export satisfaction forms into the master database in a timely manner.
• Perform random checks of restaurant meals to verify quantity and quality.
• Document and forward beneficiary feedback and complaints, ensuring protection‑sensitive issues are reported through appropriate channels.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the MEAL Team Leader or Manager.

Required profile

• Fluent in Oromo, Amharic, Tigray, and Somali.
• Ability to write clear reports in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Flexibility, good listening, and adherence to DRC’s humanitarian values.
