Liaison Officer

About the role

The Liaison Officer will support Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) operations in Yemen by ensuring that all external administrative procedures run smoothly. Working from the Sanaa Coordination Office, the role focuses on obtaining visas, work permits and travel authorisations in line with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Protocol Office Manager to secure visas, stay permits, travel and work authorisations for all MSF staff in Yemen.
• Submit required documentation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) online system and follow up on entry visas, ground‑movement and travel permits.
• Maintain up‑to‑date files on legal and administrative procedures, including changes to visa or permit regulations.
• Prepare monthly per‑diem calculations for international staff and manage advance clearances.
• Provide phone support to HR for urgent operational changes outside regular hours, as agreed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in administration or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar administrative or liaison role.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility and ability to manage stress.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Outlook email and calendar management.
