Emergency Specialist (Level 3) – Fixed Term – Aden, Yemen

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Emergency Specialist (Level 3) to lead emergency preparedness and response activities at the country office in Aden, Yemen. The role supports the survival and well‑being of children, mothers and affected communities during crises.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans.
• Coordinate and manage emergency response operations.
• Oversee emergency project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related fields.
• Minimum five years of progressive professional experience at national and international levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other partners.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

• Effective communication for technical guidance, humanitarian appeals, advocacy and media engagement.
