Legal Specialist – Al Hudaydah (Female)

About the role

The Legal Specialist will support displaced populations in Al Hudaydah by identifying their legal needs, providing advice, and facilitating access to essential documentation. This nine‑month fixed‑term role focuses on raising legal awareness, supporting gender‑based violence prevention, and strengthening coordination with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake sessions with displaced individuals to determine legal issues and refer them to appropriate services.
• Prepare and implement monthly and quarterly plans for awareness‑raising and life‑skills programs.
• Interview cases referred by Case Management and deliver timely legal advice.
• Organise and lead field‑based and office‑based sessions to improve target groups’ legal knowledge.
• Coordinate with Civil Status offices and the “Space” management to obtain identification documents.
• Document success stories and contribute to the development of legal‑awareness tools.
• Participate in mobilisation and advocacy activities for groups at risk of gender‑based violence.
• Prepare regular reports on awareness activities, identify implementation gaps, and propose solutions.
• Attend meetings, training workshops, and any other tasks assigned within the project framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar legal role.
• Fluency in English.
• Female candidate as specified.

• Advanced computer use, data entry, and archiving proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong report‑writing skills for daily and monthly documentation.
