Immunization Manager (P-4) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Immunization Manager will lead the development, planning, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF's immunization programme in Yemen, ensuring alignment with child survival, maternal and child health, and nutrition components.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and innovation for the immunization programme, including planning, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and oversight.
• Ensure gender equality is integrated throughout the programme, with gender‑disaggregated data and mainstreaming.
• Contribute sectoral analysis and situation updates with sex‑disaggregated data for effective project planning.
• Develop and implement immunization strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Monitor project progress, evaluate results and adjust implementation to improve delivery and sustainability.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to government and NGOs at all programme stages.
• Prepare timely programme reports in line with UNICEF guidelines.
• Maintain emergency preparedness and coordinate effective emergency responses.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Medicine, Public Health, Paediatric Health, Global/International Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology or related fields.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in development, planning, implementation, monitoring and management of health/immunization programmes at national and international levels.
• Experience in managerial or technical expert positions, preferably in developing countries and humanitarian contexts.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, French, etc.) is an asset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of latest developments and technologies in immunization and public health.
• Understanding of UNICEF policies, gender equality, diversity and inclusion strategies.
• Ability to work with government, NGOs and partners to build capacity and ensure programme sustainability.
