Economic Recovery Intern

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a motivated Economic Recovery Intern to support EU, ECHO and KfW‑I & II projects in Aden and Lahj governorates, Yemen. The role offers hands‑on experience in humanitarian project administration, data management and community‑based livelihood activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist implementation of EU, ECHO and KfW‑I & II economic recovery programmes in Lahj Governorate.
• Support community mobilisation, monitor business‑skills and vocational training, and oversee grant distributions.
• Prepare and verify field documentation; enter, clean, upload and archive data using KoboToolbox and Excel.
• Facilitate field monitoring, coaching visits and beneficiary communication, escalating protection or quality issues as needed.
• Support cash‑project registration and distribution processes.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community committees, women’s groups, implementing partners and DRC departments.
• Apply DRC Code of Conduct, safeguarding, data‑protection and do‑no‑harm principles.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or early‑career candidate (graduated within the last three years).
• No formal humanitarian experience required; volunteering, community work or field support is a plus.
• Highly motivated, disciplined, eager to learn and passionate about women’s economic empowerment.
• Basic understanding of the local context in Yemen.

Required skills

• KoboToolbox for data collection.
• Microsoft Excel for data entry, cleaning and archiving.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills.
