Economic Recovery Intern – Humanitarian Field Support

About the role

The Economic Recovery Intern will provide supervised field and administrative support for KFW and EU‑funded economic recovery activities in targeted communities. Working closely with senior staff, the intern will assist with community entry, beneficiary registration, data collection, training support and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of KFW and EU economic recovery work plans under close supervision.
• Assist with community sensitisation, beneficiary registration, verification and needs assessments.
• Help organise and facilitate trainings on life‑skills, business development, agriculture, vocational topics and women’s groups.
• Prepare and check field documentation; enter, clean and upload data using KoboToolbox and Excel.
• Support field monitoring visits, coach beneficiaries and flag protection or quality issues immediately.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community committees, women representatives and DRC teams.
• Apply DRC Code of Conduct, safeguarding, data‑protection and do‑no‑harm principles.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or early‑career candidate from Al Turbah, Al Shamayatien or nearby areas.
• Graduated no more than three years before the application date.
• Highly motivated, disciplined and eager to learn about humanitarian work and women’s economic empowerment.
• No formal humanitarian experience required; volunteering or community work is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and cleaning.
• Experience with KoboToolbox or similar mobile data‑collection tools.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to work with standard office software.
