Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. You will be responsible for cleaning, stripping, and painting AC/DC motor parts throughout the repair process, ensuring all work follows strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components, including frames, cores, armatures, gears, and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, parts washers, and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment including dip tanks, VPI systems, and temperature‑controlled burnout ovens.
• Handle material moving equipment like fork trucks and cranes to transport motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before shipment.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and adhere to all PPE requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC/DC motor parts.
• Experience operating material‑handling equipment safely.
• Strong attention to procedural detail and safety compliance.
• Willingness to learn and retain job‑related training.
