Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. The role involves cleaning, stripping, and painting AC/DC motor parts throughout the disassembly and assembly phases of the repair process. You will work with a variety of cleaning and repair equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components, including frames, cores, armatures, gears, and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, parts washers, and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment including dip tanks, VPI systems, burnout and bake‑out ovens, and handheld tools.
• Handle material moving equipment like fork trucks and cranes to transport motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a tidy work area.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC and DC motor parts.
• Proficiency with material handling equipment (fork trucks, cranes).
• Consistent adherence to documented procedures and safety protocols.
• Capability to operate hand tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to learn and retain job‑related training.
