Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. The role involves cleaning, stripping, and painting AC/DC motor parts throughout the repair process, using a variety of specialized equipment while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components such as frames, cores, armatures, gears, and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment including steam cleaners, parts washers, and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment like dip tanks, VPI systems, and temperature‑controlled burnout/bake‑out ovens.
• Handle material movement using fork trucks, cranes, and other lifting devices.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before shipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all PPE and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC and DC motor parts.
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as fork trucks and cranes.
• Proven ability to follow detailed procedures and complete documentation accurately.
• Commitment to safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.
