Rapid Response Mechanism Coordinator – Yemen

About the role

The Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) Coordinator will lead the coordination of emergency lifesaving commodity distribution for populations affected by new crises in Yemen. Working closely with implementing partners, authorities and internal teams, the coordinator ensures that the RRM operates efficiently, delivering assistance within 72 hours of a trigger.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line‑management for directly reporting staff, including performance management, recruitment and staff development.
• Support colleagues with RRM responsibilities and organise RRM trainings and inductions for staff and partners.
• Identify rapid and effective approaches for RRM assistance in collaboration with implementing partners.
• Plan, start‑up and oversee RRM programme activities, ensuring high‑quality delivery aligned with NRC policies.
• Develop proposals, budgets and donor reports, and ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards and donor commitments.
• Participate in coordination mechanisms with UN agencies, NGOs, government authorities and local organisations, reporting outcomes to line managers and partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian emergency response coordination.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, monitoring and evaluation capabilities.
• Knowledge of donor reporting and compliance requirements.
