Head of Project Management (PMO Leader)

About the role

The organization, a leading Yemeni enterprise backed by a French investment group, seeks a Head of Project Management (PMO Leader) to steer its Project Management Office during a period of strategic expansion. This senior executive role focuses on leading project managers, establishing governance, and driving organizational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and strengthen the PMO governance framework, standardising methodologies, reporting and performance metrics.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of native Yemeni Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary liaison between local executive leadership and French investors, delivering dashboards, portfolio updates and strategic recommendations.
• Oversee multiple strategic initiatives, identify portfolio risks, remove operational bottlenecks and optimise resources while ensuring quality, safety and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field; Master’s degree highly preferred.
• Extensive leadership experience managing a PMO or leading teams of Project Managers.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise‑wide strategic initiatives.
• Experience in multinational organisations, joint ventures or foreign‑invested companies is a strong advantage.
• Native Yemeni Arabic, business‑fluent English; French is a strong advantage.
