General Support – Camp Coordination & Management

About the role

Under the supervision of the CCCM Project Manager, the General Support officer will work directly in the field to build relationships with beneficiaries, manage information, and support capacity‑building activities. The role involves coordinating with IDP hosting sites, host communities and partner organisations to ensure humanitarian actions meet international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate regular communication and meetings with site/area management committees in the ABSM catchment area.
• Follow up on complaints from IDPs and host communities and ensure action points are addressed.
• Organise community meetings to develop and implement site‑led projects.
• Support referral mechanisms, update service mapping and track timely referrals.
• Lead flood‑response activities, including rapid damage assessments and distribution of relief items.
• Identify and coordinate infrastructure needs with the community.
• Conduct quarterly multi‑sectorial assessments.
• Assist the Infrastructure Assistant during cash‑for‑shelter upgrades.
• Collect data for the Site Management monitoring tool and lead shelter‑managed distributions.

Required profile

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience working in the CCCM (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) sector.
• Proven ability to work in remote, field‑based environments for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience in coordinating humanitarian activities and monitoring standards.
