Country Director – Yemen

About the role

Geneva Call is seeking a senior leader to serve as Country Director in Yemen. The role provides strategic leadership, represents the organisation nationally and internationally, and oversees the planning, coordination and delivery of all country operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the humanitarian and security context to define priority areas of work.
• Lead the implementation of Geneva Call’s mission to promote respect for international humanitarian law with armed groups, de‑facto authorities and provisional governments.
• Manage the country team, ensuring effective delivery, monitoring, evaluation and learning of programmes.
• Oversee financial and human‑resource management, adhering to budgets, work plans and proposal guidelines.
• Represent Geneva Call to national authorities, donors, UN agencies, INGOs, civil‑society actors and in international forums.
• Coordinate with HQ units such as Programme, Policy Research & Legal, MEAL, Safety & Security, Global Engagement, Finance, Logistics and HR.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in humanitarian or development settings.
• Proven ability to lead country‑wide operations and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of international humanitarian law and protection issues.
• Experience in advocacy, fundraising and high‑level representation.
