Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. The role involves cleaning, stripping and painting AC/DC motor components throughout the repair process, ensuring parts are ready for re‑assembly and shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external parts of motors, frames, cores, armatures, gears, housings and other equipment.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, parts washers and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment including dip tanks, VPI systems and temperature‑controlled burnout/bake‑out ovens.
• Operate material‑handling equipment like fork trucks and cranes to move and store motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before they are shipped back to customers.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in the assigned work area.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC and DC motor parts.
• Capability to operate material‑handling equipment safely.
• Demonstrated ability to follow documented procedures consistently.
• Willingness to learn and retain job‑related training, operational and safety protocols.
