Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. The role involves cleaning, stripping and painting AC/DC motor parts throughout the repair process, ensuring all work follows safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components such as frames, cores, armatures, gears and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment including steam cleaners, parts washers and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment like dip tanks, VPI systems and temperature‑controlled burnout and bake‑out ovens.
• Handle material moving equipment (fork trucks, cranes) to transport motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before shipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC and DC motor parts.
• Experience operating material handling equipment safely.
• Consistent adherence to documented procedures and safety protocols.
• Capability to learn and retain job‑related training.
