Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. You will be responsible for cleaning, stripping, and painting AC/DC motor parts throughout the repair process, using a variety of specialized equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components such as frames, cores, armatures, gears, and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment including steam cleaners, parts washers, and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment like dip tanks, VPI systems, burnout and bake‑out ovens, and handheld tools.
• Handle material moving equipment (fork trucks, cranes) to transport motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and assembled motors before shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a tidy work area.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC/DC motor parts.
• Proficiency with material handling equipment such as fork trucks and cranes.
• Accurate completion of procedural documentation.
• Safe operation of hand tools and equipment.
• Capacity to learn and retain job‑related training, operational, and safety procedures.
