Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Field Manager

About the role

The Technical Field Manager (TFM) will lead and support national mine action staff in Yemen, ensuring safe and effective explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and mine‑clearance operations. The role focuses on building technical capacity, supervising daily activities, and maintaining compliance with established standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily EOD and MMC operational activities, guaranteeing safety and quality.
• Support the Operations Manager in planning, tasking, and monitoring of operational assets.
• Mentor and supervise national staff, ensuring adherence to IMAS, NMAS and DRC HDP SOPs.
• Deliver and monitor training programmes to strengthen staff capacity.
• Conduct internal quality assurance of EOD work and implement corrective actions.
• Report daily activity updates to the Operations Manager and IM unit.
• Analyse productivity data and recommend improvements.
• Assist in accreditation processes and SOP revisions as required.
• Provide technical advice to other DRC sectors operating in contaminated areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing EOD and mine‑action operations.
• Ability to mentor and build capacity of national staff.
• Familiarity with IMAS, NMAS and humanitarian de‑mining standards.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills.
