Protection Officer

About the role

The Protection Officer will support the implementation of protection activities for displaced populations in Sana’a, with regular field visits to Hajjah and Al Hudaydah. Working under the Protection Team Leader, the role ensures that programmes meet standards, targets and beneficiary needs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and document daily protection activities against work plans and standards.
• Conduct field visits to assess implementation by DRC and local partners.
• Review partner reports, beneficiary databases and verify data accuracy.
• Identify gaps, data quality issues and protection concerns, and follow up with relevant teams.
• Escalate significant issues to the Protection Team Leader.
• Contribute to reporting, service mapping, referrals and coordination meetings.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian protection or related field.
• Ability to travel regularly within Yemen and work in challenging environments.
• Strong analytical skills for data verification and gap analysis.
• Good communication skills for liaising with partners and beneficiaries.
