Health and Safety Manager – AMZL WHS Team

About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives for its AMZL Italy network. You will oversee a cluster of 5‑7 delivery stations, drive safety culture improvements, and ensure compliance with both Amazon standards and Italian legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of WHS Specialists and Technicians (5‑7 direct reports) across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with site leadership, senior managers, and EU stakeholders to execute WHS strategy.
• Use internal reporting tools to analyse safety data, identify root causes, and inform leadership decisions.
• Lead safety audits, inspections, and corrective‑action tracking to maintain compliance with D.Lgs. 81/2008 and Amazon protocols.
• Conduct strategic gemba walks with senior site leaders to assess operational safety and coach on safety‑focused behaviours.
• Analyze incident trends, recommend targeted interventions, and drive measurable risk reduction.
• Participate in European working groups to shape EU‑wide safety standards and share best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health and safety programs in a logistics or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Italian WHS legislation (D.Lgs. 81/2008) and corporate safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical skills for data‑driven decision making.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
