Utility Operator – Birmingham Service Division

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Utility Operator to join our Birmingham Service Division. In this hands‑on role you will clean, strip and paint AC/DC motor parts throughout the repair process, ensuring all work meets our quality and safety standards. The position offers a clear path for advancement within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Clean internal and external motor components, including frames, cores, armatures, gears and housings.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, parts washers and sand‑blasters.
• Run specialized repair equipment including dip tanks, VPI systems and temperature‑controlled burnout/bake‑out ovens.
• Handle material moving equipment like fork trucks and cranes to transport motors and parts.
• Paint repaired and re‑assembled motors before shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization in the assigned work area.

Required profile

• Ability to perform stripping operations on AC/DC motor parts.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (fork trucks, cranes).
• Demonstrated competence in following documented procedures and safety guidelines.
• Capability to operate hand tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to learn and retain job‑related training.
