Senior Operations Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Yemen is looking for a Senior Operations Coordinator (SOC) to support the Country Director in leading and improving IRC Yemen's Operations functions, including Supply Chain, Administration, ICT and Field Coordination. The position reports to the Country Director, sits in the Country Program Senior Management Team and is unaccompanied, based in Aden, with extensive in-country and occasional regional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and improve the Operations Department's structures and processes, including procurement planning, distribution planning, project cycle management (PCM), Integra (ERP) and Power BI
• Stabilize operations and ICT teams to ensure compliance, cost control, quality and stakeholder satisfaction
• Strengthen operational support to partners through capacity assessments, development and partner support plans
• Support the smooth running of the Aden office and represent IRC in Yemen
• Lead supply chain strategy (procurement, warehousing, transport, distribution) and monitor its performance
• Ensure compliant use of IRC equipment and communication resources, and lead planning, maintenance and cybersecurity of IT infrastructure
• Set up data management systems and oversee data collection, storage and analysis
• Identify program expansion opportunities, support field office setup and act as point of contact for operational support to programs
• Coordinate with Finance on the monthly spending plan, vendor payments and documentation of supplies and transactions
• Take part in the Senior Management Team, partnership working group and the Strategic Action Plan, and ensure legal registration documents are up to date
• Lead the Ops team: one-on-ones, coaching, performance evaluations, duty of care and regular visits to field offices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Management, International Development or Social Sciences
• At least five years of progressively responsible international work experience, including at least three years in a leadership role at Senior Coordinator level in multi-site, multi-sectoral operations
• Demonstrated leadership of a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting and oversight of donor-funded projects
• Previous experience in the MENA region and/or with IRC preferred; experience in IT and security preferred
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is an asset
