MEAL Assistant – Shabwa

About the role

The MEAL Assistant will join the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team supporting the Sustaining Education and Learning (SEAL) project funded by the World Bank. The role focuses on implementing monitoring, accountability and learning activities to ensure high‑quality delivery and beneficiary safety.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the monitoring checklist for project activities and translate it into the local language when needed.
• Collaborate with program staff on routine monitoring, PRIME reporting and indicator performance tracking.
• Organise and conduct regular field visits to assess project quality benchmarks and report findings to the management team.
• Support joint planning and monitoring with stakeholders and contribute to the review of log‑frames, results frameworks and MEAL plans.
• Provide technical support for data collection, analysis and verification against performance indicators.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of reporting data through periodic sample checks.
• Carry out follow‑up monitoring visits to implement agreed actions and maintain the monitoring‑action plan.

Required profile

• Experience working within a MEAL team or similar monitoring and evaluation environment.
• Ability to work closely with program staff, partners and beneficiaries.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to child‑safety and safeguarding standards.
• Willingness to travel for field visits and conduct on‑site assessments.
