Junior Fleet Assistant – Aden

About the role

The Junior Fleet Assistant will support the IOM mission in Aden by ensuring efficient transport operations for staff and program activities. Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and the Procurement and Logistics Officer, the role focuses on vehicle coordination, scheduling, and maintenance in line with IOM procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Procurement and Logistics Assistant in organizing movement of all mission vehicles assigned at Aden.
• Prepare daily vehicle movement schedules in coordination with programme managers and heads of units.
• Draw up and update drivers’ schedules and contact details, ensuring timely pick‑up and drop‑off of staff.
• Monitor the transport logbook system, checking and validating the accuracy of entries.
• Verify vehicle maintenance and follow up on weekly vehicle checks.
• Monitor vehicle fueling; ensure vehicles are refueled every weekend and on the last day of the month.
• Ensure all mission vehicles are kept clean, properly maintained, and in good running condition.
• Immediately report any problems involving transportation or dispatch.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and the overall supervision of the Procurement and Logistics Officer.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate vehicle movements and maintain schedules.
• Attention to detail for accurate logbook entries and maintenance tracking.
