ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) – Yemen, Amran

About the role

The ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) supports the implementation of the Norwegian Refugee Council’s ICLA programme in Amran, Yemen. Working at field level, the assistant ensures that legal‑ and protection‑related activities are delivered safely, inclusively and in line with humanitarian standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ICLA project activities according to approved proposals, donor requirements and NRC policies.
• Conduct regular field visits, provide legal information, awareness sessions and capacity‑building programmes for beneficiaries.
• Develop and maintain case‑management systems and databases of ICLA cases.
• Facilitate group information sessions, outreach, advocacy and needs‑assessment activities.
• Support monitoring, verification, evaluation and reporting of project outcomes.
• Analyse protection issues affecting beneficiaries and provide timely feedback to the ICLA Coordinator.

Required profile

• University degree in law.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with legal firms, NGOs or international organisations in protection or human‑rights contexts, preferably in Yemen.
• Experience working in complex, volatile humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to document results and produce quantitative and qualitative reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
