Technical Assistant – ICLA (Yemen, Amran)

About the role

The ICLA Technical Assistant supports the implementation of the Norwegian Refugee Council’s ICLA programme in Amran, Yemen. Working at field level, the assistant ensures that protection and case‑management activities are delivered safely, inclusively and in line with NRC policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ICLA project activities according to approved proposals, donor guidelines and local customs, including regular field visits and monitoring.
• Provide direct assistance to beneficiaries, conduct awareness sessions, and manage capacity‑building programmes on ICLA thematic areas.
• Develop and maintain case‑management systems and databases, supporting verification, evaluation and reporting.
• Conduct needs assessments, focus‑group discussions and trainings, and contribute to strategic reviews and M&E of activities.
• Coordinate with community networks, service providers and NRC staff to ensure effective protection monitoring and community mobilisation.

Required profile

• University degree in law, social studies, development studies or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience with an NGO or international organisation in protection, human‑rights or case‑management, preferably in Yemen.
• Experience working in complex, volatile contexts and ability to produce quantitative and qualitative reports.
• Knowledge of English language.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
