General Support – Protection PSS Facilitator

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is recruiting a Community Centre (CC) Facilitator in Al-Musaymeer (Mokhran), Lahj, Yemen. The CC Facilitator runs recreational and psychosocial support activities for children, youth and adult women and men, carries out awareness-raising, helps set up the centre's schedule and keeps the space equipped and organised, and refers people needing further assistance to DRC staff.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and run recreational and psychosocial activities such as arts, sport, non-formal education and human development skills for children, youth and adults
• Help set up and organise spaces and materials in the community centre
• Assist DRC staff in planning and maintaining the activity schedule and proposing new ideas
• Identify needs for materials and equipment for activities
• Safely mobilise community members to take part in centre activities
• Greet, welcome, orient and register clients at the centre
• Hold information-sharing and awareness sessions on topics identified by DRC, and raise awareness among community leaders and focal points
• Identify and refer people needing additional assistance to DRC case management staff following defined referral pathways and SOPs, with a focus on high-risk cases
• Follow the DRC Code of Conduct, including neutrality, do no harm and non-discrimination, and treat partners and beneficiaries with dignity

Required profile

• University degree in social work, education or a closely related field; proven field experience can be accepted in lieu
• Fluent written and spoken Arabic
• Experience facilitating recreational and psychosocial support activities and leading activities for children, youth and adults
• Knowledge of vocational and crafts
• Willingness to perform tasks as required by DRC and other partner agencies if relevant

What we offer

• Contract ending 31 March 2027, in the Non-Management (J) band, reporting to the Protection Team Leader
• Start date as soon as possible
• Salary and conditions according to the Danish Refugee Council's national terms of employment
