Economic Recovery Intern – Humanitarian Field Support

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking two motivated Economic Recovery Interns to support its KFW and EU‑funded livelihood programmes in Yemen. Interns will work closely with field teams to assist communities, collect and manage data, and help deliver training and business‑development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the implementation of KFW and EU Economic Recovery activities according to approved work plans and SOPs.
• Support community entry, sensitisation, beneficiary registration, verification and needs assessments.
• Help organise and facilitate trainings on life‑skills, business, agriculture, post‑harvest, biogas and women’s groups.
• Prepare and review field documentation; enter, clean and upload data using KoboToolbox and Excel.
• Participate in field monitoring, coaching visits and beneficiary follow‑up, escalating any protection or quality issues.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community committees, women representatives and DRC teams.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or early‑career candidate from Al Turbah, Al Shamayatien or nearby targeted areas, with graduation no more than three years ago.
• Highly motivated, disciplined and eager to learn about humanitarian work and women’s economic empowerment.
• Basic understanding of the local context and ability to communicate culturally appropriately.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, cleaning and reporting.
• Experience with KoboToolbox or similar digital data‑collection platforms.
