Driver – Aden

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a reliable driver to provide transportation services for staff in Aden. Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and the Supply Chain Assistant – Fleet Management, the incumbent will ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide transportation for IOM staff as required.
• Maintain adequate fuel levels and ensure the vehicle is in good running condition.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, tyre pressure) and routine maintenance or cleaning.
• Deliver letters, mail and packages on behalf of IOM.
• Operate and maintain emergency communication equipment (VHF/UHF radios) and keep emergency supplies on board.
• Record vehicle movements, fuel consumption and mileage in the logbook.
• Notify supervisors of any repairs or issues.
• Assist staff with entering/exiting the vehicle, baggage handling and umbrella provision in adverse weather.
• Comply with all traffic laws and security protocols, especially on high‑risk assignments.

Required profile

• Works under the overall supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and direct supervision of the Supply Chain Assistant – Fleet Management.
• Capable of performing routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Willing to assist staff and handle baggage or umbrellas as needed.
• Prepared to remain behind the wheel at all times during high‑risk missions.

Required skills

• Operation of VHF/UHF radio communication equipment.
• Basic vehicle maintenance (checking oil, water, battery, tyre pressure).
• Vehicle logbook management and accurate record‑keeping.
