Deputy Director, Finance

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Deputy Director, Finance to lead its financial operations in Aden, Yemen. Reporting to the Country Director and the MENAU Regional Finance Director, this senior role will ensure robust financial infrastructure, compliance, and strategic support for the country program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial information and strategic analysis to support the Country Director and senior management team in decision‑making.
• Contribute to the development and monitoring of the Country Program’s strategic annual plan and financial health.
• Ensure all in‑country financial practices comply with IRC, donor policies, and local regulations.
• Establish and adapt finance procedures to supplement global policies as needed.
• Monitor financial performance, internal controls, and advise on issues affecting the office’s financial stability.
• Act as the principal finance business partner to senior leadership, aligning financial operations with IRC’s control environment and CFO standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial management within international NGOs or similar organizations.
• Strong knowledge of US and local financial regulations and donor compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead finance teams and develop financial policies and procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess financial health and support strategic planning.
