Data Visualization Reporting Officer (Consultant A, Remote)

About the role

IOM, a UN-related organization active in migration since 1951, is hiring a remote consultant for its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme in Yemen. The DTM gathers and analyzes data on the mobility, vulnerabilities and needs of displaced and mobile populations. The programme now needs staff to oversee the reporting component in terms of accuracy, visualization, quality and timeline, under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer (DTM).

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and visualize complex DTM and other data to support accurate, engaging reports and information products.
• Contribute to regular reports, analytical and statistical reports, displacement profiles, maps and other products.
• Coordinate with the Global DTM AKO unit to align outputs with global DTM standards, and with IM and GIS officers on cross-tabulations and GIS products.
• Organize dissemination products and presentations highlighting key findings, definitions and trends.
• Draft, research, analyze and proofread internal and external reports, and prepare documents for surveys and assessments.
• Liaise with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, think tanks and other stakeholders, and support the DTM programme in cluster activities.
• Supervise reporting staff through on-the-job training, task setting and performance evaluation.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field (data science, geography, business administration, international relations, political science, communications, information management, computer science) with two years of experience, or a university degree with four years of experience.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); Arabic is an advantage.
• Experience in international organizations and the humanitarian community, and in migration, displacement and humanitarian assistance, is an asset.

Required skills

• Data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau) and publication software (InDesign, Microsoft Publisher) are a distinct advantage.
• Statistical analysis tools (STATA, SPSS) are highly desirable.
• Relational databases, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and word processing.
• Excellent English writing skills and attention to detail.
