Senior Accounting Officer

About the role

The Yemen Polling Center is seeking a Senior Accounting Officer to lead its financial operations. You will be responsible for establishing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting project teams with financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up dashboards and accounting workspaces in QuickBooks according to organizational needs and regulations.
• Develop and update financial policies, due‑diligence memos, and comprehensive income‑expenditure records.
• Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and assist managers with financial, progress, and donor reports.
• Draft quarterly, annual, and donor‑required financial reports and statements.
• Verify invoices, receipts, and purchase orders, ensuring proper coding and adherence to control systems.
• Manage cash flow, track drawdown schedules, and prepare annual accounts for audit.
• Process salary payments and present revisions to the Executive Director for approval.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting or financial management.
• 2–5 years of experience in international organizations, preferably with EU or FCDO‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
