Monitoring, Evidence, Accountability, and Learning Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evidence, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer supports the Country Office in delivering high‑quality, data‑driven programmes that meet NRC standards and donor requirements. You will work closely with programme teams to collect, analyse, and report on project performance, ensuring transparency and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and strengthen MEAL systems and SOPs at the country level.
• Design, conduct, and supervise quantitative and qualitative data collection for assessments, monitoring, and evaluations.
• Enter, clean, and organise monitoring data promptly; maintain MEAL databases and documentation.
• Develop progress trackers, indicator tables, and MEL matrices for each project.
• Support verification of activities, distributions, and beneficiary lists.
• Ensure accurate reporting in NRC systems and cross‑verify figures with ITTs.
• Promote ethical, inclusive engagement with communities during monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of MEAL principles, SOPs, and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme teams, partners, and field staff.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data quality and ethical standards.
