Expert Nahari Arabic Audio Transcriber

About the role

Perle is seeking native Nahari Arabic speakers to produce high‑quality, time‑aligned transcripts of audio recordings. The work supports speech‑recognition and evaluation systems for leading AI labs and requires expert linguistic judgment rather than simple data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate written text following Perle’s style guide.
• Apply conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, false starts, and non‑speech events such as laughter or background noise.
• Make orthographic decisions for dialectal, colloquial, and code‑switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments, uncertain speakers, and audio‑quality issues.
• Self‑review submissions against quality standards and collaborate with QA reviewers on edge cases.

Required profile

• Native fluency in Nahari Arabic with lifelong residence or deep immersion in its speaker region.
• Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic for orthographic decisions.
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience.
• Ability to distinguish Nahari Arabic from neighboring varieties.
• Reliable high‑speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace.
• Willingness to commit to a defined weekly volume during active project phases.
