Technical Assistant (Lawyer) – ICLA Programme

About the role

The ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) supports the implementation of NRC’s ICLA programme in Hodeidah, ensuring safe, inclusive, and accountable protection practices. The role involves field‑level coordination, monitoring, and mentoring to deliver high‑quality legal and protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ICLA project activities in line with approved proposals, donor requirements, NRC policies and local customs.
• Conduct regular field visits, provide legal advice, and run awareness sessions for beneficiaries.
• Develop and maintain case management systems and databases of cases.
• Map and update service providers in the area of responsibility.
• Facilitate group information sessions, outreach, and advocacy initiatives.
• Support needs assessments, studies, and research using focus groups and interviews.
• Deliver trainings and training needs assessments for target groups.
• Analyse and produce quantitative and qualitative activity reports.

Required profile

• University degree in law.
• Minimum 2 years experience with legal firms, NGOs or international organisations in protection or human‑rights contexts.
• Experience working as a legal and protection employee in a humanitarian/recovery setting in Yemen.
• Proven ability to work in complex and volatile environments.
• At least 1 year of direct legal work experience.
• Preferred knowledge of English language.
