Human Rights Associate

About the role

The Human Rights Associate will support OHCHR Yemen in monitoring, documenting and reporting human rights and humanitarian law violations. Working closely with authorities, civil society and humanitarian actors, the role contributes to promoting and protecting human rights across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, document and report human rights violations, including minority rights and civilian casualties.
• Lead initiatives on minority rights and support protection and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Draft reports, briefing notes, summaries and background papers.
• Organise workshops, trainings and meetings; prepare presentations and communication materials.
• Support data management, field missions and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Rights, Law, Political Science, Development, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in human rights, protection, monitoring & documentation, research or reporting.
• Fluent Arabic (required) and fluent English (desirable).
