Human Resources Officer – Yemen

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Human Resources Officer to support the integrated staff of Participating National Societies operating within the Yemen Country Delegation. The officer will coordinate and implement core HR functions, ensuring compliance with IFRC policies and Yemeni labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment processes, including job posting, candidate screening and onboarding for staff of Participating National Societies.
• Manage payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with social security requirements.
• Maintain confidential personnel records, performance appraisals and other HR documentation.
• Oversee employee lifecycle activities such as contracts, transfers, promotions and terminations.
• Provide employee‑relations support and advise on policy interpretation in collaboration with the Regional HR Unit (MENA).
• Ensure HR practices align with IFRC standards, local labour law and the humanitarian principles of the Movement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in HR administration, recruitment, payroll and employee relations.
• Good knowledge of IFRC HR policies and Yemeni labour legislation.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the capacity to work with multiple national societies.
