Volunteer Web Designer: WordPress Expert for Humanitarian Organization

About the role

Green Empowerment NGO (GEFD) is seeking a mission‑driven volunteer Web Designer to lead the migration of its website from Google Sites to a high‑performance WordPress platform hosted on Microsoft Azure. This remote role will directly support the organization’s humanitarian and environmental initiatives in Yemen.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the migration of all content and assets from Google Sites to a new WordPress installation.
• Install and customize professional themes (e.g., Astra, OceanWP) to reflect GEFD’s branding.
• Design high‑converting landing pages aimed at digital fundraising.
• Integrate third‑party donation platforms such as Global Giving, Madinah, and Tiltify.
• Optimize site structure, metadata, and images for technical SEO to maximize Google Ad Grants reach.
• Ensure full responsiveness and fast performance across mobile devices.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing websites for non‑profits or social enterprises.
• Ability to work independently, manage the project from design to go‑live, and communicate fluently in English.
• Knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not required.
