Volunteer Enumerator for Child Safeguarding Programs

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking dedicated volunteers to serve as Enumerators across the country. In this role you will support child safeguarding, textbook distribution verification, and reading program monitoring in schools and community sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and social safeguarding (ESS) and risk assessments at schools, training venues, and activity sites.
• Facilitate safeguarding, ESS orientations and stakeholder consultations for project participants, school staff and community members.
• Raise awareness on child safeguarding, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), sexual harassment and gender‑based violence.
• Disseminate information on complaint channels, collect community feedback and forward grievances to the MEAL/Accountability team.
• Document and report any field‑level incidents, accidents or safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Verify textbook distribution, conduct physical field checks and report discrepancies or supply‑chain issues.
• Monitor reading, remedial and academic classes, conduct classroom observations and gather qualitative feedback through focus group discussions.
• Utilize mobile data collection tools to capture field data and ensure accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel to schools and community sites across the country.
• Strong commitment to child protection and safeguarding principles.
• Good communication skills for engaging with teachers, parents, students and community leaders.
• Ability to work independently and follow established reporting procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mobile data collection tools (e.g., ODK, KoBoToolbox).
