Supply Chain Officer – International Organization for Migration

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Supply Chain Officer to oversee supply‑chain activities for its Country Office, ensuring quality goods and services reach beneficiaries at optimal cost and on time. The role reports to the Head of Resources Management and works closely with the Regional Office in Cairo and HQ Supply Chain Division.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct strategic planning for supply‑chain activities and coordinate with HQ, regional office and local stakeholders.
• Supervise procurement, warehousing, transport, fleet, asset and facilities management, ensuring timely delivery of quality goods and services.
• Perform market research, vendor evaluation, bid solicitation, and manage the full procurement cycle in line with IOM’s Delegation of Authority.
• Maintain internal controls, monitor asset maintenance, and ensure compliance with UN procurement and financial rules.
• Provide training, guidance and performance management for the supply‑chain team and represent the office in UN inter‑agency meetings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related field with at least five years relevant experience, or a university degree with seven years experience.
• Proven experience managing procurement and logistics operations in complex, emergency or fragile settings, including vendor management and large‑team supervision.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of IOM/UN internal procurement and financial regulations.
• Strong computer literacy; familiarity with Oracle procurement system is an advantage.
