Senior Engineer – Multidisciplinary Civil Engineering

About the role

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and support the growth of its multidisciplinary engineering practice across the Gulf Coast region. The role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with strategic client development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects from planning through construction.
• Provide technical direction and review of reports, plans, and specifications.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple office locations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in transportation, site civil, coastal, water resources, or hydrology & hydraulics engineering.
• Strong communication and strategic planning skills.
