Security Officer (Yemen)

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Security Officer for its Yemen country delegation. Reporting to the Head of Country Delegation, the officer will help protect staff, assets and operations by applying IFRC security standards and coordinating with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Country Delegation in all security‑related matters for IFRC activities in Yemen.
• Develop, maintain and monitor a security risk‑management framework that complies with IFRC Minimum Security Requirements.
• Ensure security procedures, contingency plans and related documents are current, approved and effectively implemented.
• Implement and monitor IFRC security standards for both IFRC and integrated National Society staff.
• Coordinate closely with the ICRC and other partners to align security measures with duty‑of‑care obligations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in security management within humanitarian or similar contexts.
• Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions to safeguard personnel and assets.
• Strong understanding of duty‑of‑care principles and employer security obligations.
