About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Protection Monitor to join its protection team in Yemen. The role will focus on identifying, analysing and reporting protection risks affecting internally displaced persons, host communities and migrants in Shabwah governorate. You will work directly with affected populations to collect data and contribute to evidence‑based programming and inter‑agency coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular field‑based protection monitoring using quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Collect data through interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observation.
- Analyse trends, produce protection reports, situation alerts and early‑warning notices.
- Support referral of vulnerable cases to appropriate services.
- Disseminate information on available protection services to communities and partners.
- Contribute to the development of protection indicators and monitoring tools.
Required profile
- Experience working in humanitarian protection, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
- Ability to engage with diverse populations, including IDPs, host communities and migrants.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
