Protection Assistant – Medical

About the role

The Protection Assistant (Medical) works under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader to ensure timely, high‑quality protection services for victims of conflict. The role focuses on victim assistance (VA) cases that require medical treatment, coordinating life‑saving support and comprehensive follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize victim assistance (VA) cases that require life‑saving medical treatment.
• Coordinate immediate medical support for civilians injured by conflict and verify their admission to hospitals.
• Assess cases and refer beneficiaries to additional protection services such as cash assistance, prosthetic limbs, rehabilitation or psychosocial support.
• Conduct daily follow‑up visits with beneficiaries receiving treatment, liaise with designated health providers and determine appropriate actions.
• Collect, review and compile required medical documentation from hospitals and produce monthly treatment summaries for each beneficiary.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader.
• Demonstrates ability to manage protection services in a humanitarian context.
• Capable of coordinating with hospitals, treatment providers and beneficiaries.
• Committed to timely, high‑quality case follow‑up and documentation.
