Protection Assistant – Medical

About the role

The Protection Assistant (Medical) supports the delivery of high‑quality protection services for civilians affected by conflict. Working under the Protection Team Leader, the role focuses on victim assistance, ensuring timely medical care, and coordinating documentation for each case.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize life‑saving medical cases for immediate assistance.
• Coordinate admission and treatment of victim‑assistance (VA) cases in hospitals.
• Verify and follow up on medical treatment progress through regular visits and communication with treatment providers.
• Refer beneficiaries to additional support such as cash assistance, artificial limbs, rehabilitation, or psychosocial services.
• Compile monthly medical treatment summaries for each beneficiary during and after treatment.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian protection or medical assistance programmes.
• Strong understanding of victim‑assistance processes and referral mechanisms.
• Ability to work in conflict‑affected environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medical documentation standards and case management.
• Proficiency in coordinating with hospitals and treatment providers.
